WHAT ERIK TEN HAG SAID
He said on the SEG Stories podcast: "I had already decided for myself, 'Okay, I'm not doing anything until July 1 (2025)'. If there's one thing I miss it's Old Trafford. You're always working towards a dot on the horizon, but you never get to the horizon. We’ve had many highs, there is always room for improvement and good is not enough. You can do better."

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Ten Hag was one of United's more successful managers in recent years as he led them to two trophies and a top four Premier League finish. The former Ajax boss was dismissed with the Red Devils 14th in the table and now they are 15th under his successor Ruben Amorim. With time, some fans may look more fondly on the Dutchman's Old Trafford tenure.
